Christopher Payne is a multi-talented instrumentalist who offers original compositions, music scoring, effective string arrangements and sound design services.
Although primarily an acoustic/electric violinist, Chris embraces the technology available to modern musicians. He also plays a wide range of instruments such as mandolin, shakuhachi, Indian flute, theremin, voice, electric guitar, keyboards and more. His specialty is a one-man string orchestra where violin, viola and cello are recorded and multi-tracked to sound identical to a huge ensemble.
Through Chris's years as a performing musician he has mastered a number of different styles including classical, jazz, rock, an array of world music styles, and he is a fluent improvisor. Chris's style could be described as eclectic with sensitivity to situation and context and this approach is reflected in his compositions. Sound generally is also a big interest and Chris treats sound design as seriously as musical composition.
